Promoting EU-China cooperation in the sphere of renewable energy

On 12 February 2025, the Brussels Energy Club received a visiting delegation from the Biomass Energy Industry Promotion Association (CAPID) of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation from CAPID was led by the organisation’s Deputy-Secretary General, Mr Dou Kejun, who was accompanied by Wang Lele, Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Research Department. The CAPID Delegation promoted scientific and policy level cooperation with European stakeholders in Brussels.

CAPID was also in Brussels promoting the 2025(6th) Global Biomass Energy Innovation and Development Forum, scheduled to take place in Beijing from April 10-11, 2025. The forum is a premier industry event covering the whole chain of bioenergy. Please visit the CAPID website for more information: https://beipa.org.cn/yw_home

Whilst in Brussels, CAPID was actively sharing China’s experience in the wider field of renewable energy, whilst also exploring the potential of bioenergy and proactively addressing climate change. China has taken great strides towards diversification of its energy sector to power its economy on renewable energy. CAPID is one of the country’s drivers embracing the energy transition and striving towards carbon neutrality by promoting the usage of cleaner and more sustainable forms of energy.
