The 7th Regional Jumbo Security Coordination Conference “SECURITY COOPERATION IN THE WESTERN BALKANS - CHALLENGES AND LESSONS FROM PANDEMICS TAO WAR IN UKRAINE” took place on November 17-18, 2022, in Rome, Italy, at the Police Institute of Advanced Studies – “A. De Gasperi.
The conference was organized by the Italian Ministry of Interior, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, and the Regional Cooperation Council. The Jumbo Conference was traditionally attended by the representatives of the Western Balkans governments, representatives of embassies from Rome (security attachés, military attachés, political advisers, etc.), and European and international institutions.
The main objective of the 7th Regional (Jumbo) Security Coordination Conference was to address and map out the main security trends which arose from the current regional and European uncertainties and which will shape the future of Western Balkan and EU security and to streamline and strengthen the cooperation and coordination in the region at the political, strategic, and operational levels.
BREC Director Nadezda Kokotovic was a speaker at the session devoted to Energy Security in the Western Balkans. She focused on the issue of governance as a key concern in the context where governments are challenged by the global energy transition.
