Gina Cohen has been working as a consultant in Israel and Palestine"s natural gas economy from the very outset of natural gas exploration activities offshore 20 years ago. During this time, she has been involved in projects spanning the full natural gas value chain: from exploration & development; to involvement in legislation by the Knesset of the Gas Law-2002 and to the Petroleum Profit Taxation Law-2011; to conducting Gas Sales and Purchase negotiations on behalf of both gas producers as well as private power plant buyers; to assisting the Ministry of Energy in its regulatory and permitting work regarding the establishment of natural gas facilities in Israel; to projects relating to the establishment of natural gas generated power stations.
Gina represents and consults to most of the large international oil and gas corporations that have operations in Israel. In addition, Gina lectures at the Haifa Technion University's M.Sc. Graduate program for Petroleum Engineers; she is the academic director for the Natural Gas Course, Law, Economy and Strategic Thinking at the Technion University"s Tel Aviv Branch. She is the author of the Hebrew-English energy lexicon (www.hebrewenergy.com) used by all professionals in the Israeli oil and gas sector and which is part of the Ministry of Energy"s website. Gina is also a frequent guest speaker at international oil and gas conferences where she is invited to speak about East Mediterranean gas issues and also acts as moderator at a number of events, such as the Flame Event 2018 as well as the forthcoming one in May 2019 in Amsterdam where she is the moderator of sessions that include Israel, Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and Greece.
