Dear colleagues, Dear friends;
I am very pleased to be filling in for Dr Marat Terterov as Director of the Brussels Energy Club (BREC), at a time when he would like to focus on his new and expanded commitments at the Energy Charter Secretariat. Since holding its first meeting back in June 2012, BREC has become a highly noticeable platform for exchanging valuable information on all types of energy-related subject matter.
There are many platforms in Brussels where energy is actively debated and discussed. What has made BREC rather unique, however, is a combination of informal setting catering to a more open discussion, exclusivity as well as incredible array of gifted energy specialists who have come from all around the world to both inform and entertain BREC meeting participants. The relationships built during this time, as well the networks formed, have been second to none. I should also mention the special role played by Marat in putting all of this together, his ability to convene, moderate and bring the best out of people.
As a former-Club member who has witnessed some of the best insights and exchange of privileged information on energy matters at BREC meetings, I am truly excited to assist the Club during the next stage of its evolution. We will continue to retain our exclusivity and allow our members to strengthen both knowledge and networks through many upcoming meetings. That said, there are also ample opportunities to utilize our brand, as well as platform, in a wider-manner where a more comprehensive range of services can be provided to our members.
I am confident that we will have a bigger and better Brussels Energy Club as it evolves towards the first decade of its activities. I look forward to liaising with you in due course and welcoming you to our forthcoming meetings as a current, future and former member, or simply guest of the Brussels Energy Club. I promise you that your time will not go astray
Ms Nadezda Kokotovic
BREC Director for Cooperation and Development
