Tomáš ZDECHOVSKÝ
Member of the European Parliament
Born in 1979 in today’s Czechia, Tomáš Zdechovský is an expert on media communication. He has worked as a crisis media advisor, consultant, analyst, and journalist. An active reservist in the Army of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Zdechovský holds the rank of First Lieutenant. He obtained two Master’s Degrees from the Theological Faculty at the University in České Budějovice and a Bachelor’s Degree from the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. He also obtained a Master’s Degree in Media Studies and Journalism from Masaryk University in Brno and an MBA in Marketing Communications from the Moravian Academy. In the Parliament, he is the chair of the Delegation for relations with Countries of Central Asia. He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. He is also a member of the Delegation for Relations with Japan and Countries of South Asia. MEP since 2014.
