Firdavs Usmonov
Deputy Ambassador of Tajikistan to the EU
Firdavs Usmonov is a seasoned diplomat, currently serving as the Deputy Ambassador of Tajikistan to the EU. Born on September 8, 1972, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Usmonov has dedicated his career to fostering international relations and promoting the interests of his country.
After completing his education at the Tajik State University's Faculty of Oriental Studies in 1994, Usmonov embarked on a journey to expand his knowledge and expertise. In 2005, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Aria Studies from Tsukuba University in Japan.
Usmonov's impressive career in diplomacy spans several key positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. From 1996 to 2002, he served as a Specialist and Third Secretary in the Department of Information and State Protocol.
In 2005, Usmonov joined the Embassy of Tajikistan in Japan as a First Secretary, where he contributed to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Following his successful tenure in Japan, he took on the role of Second Secretary in the Department of Asian and African Countries within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan from 2005 to 2007.
Usmonov's dedication and expertise were further recognized when he served as the First Secretary and Head of Division in the Department of Asian and African Countries from 2010 to 2015. In 2015, Usmonov took on a new challenge as a Counselor at the Embassy of Tajikistan in Austria.
From 2018 to 2022, Usmonov served as a Counsellor, Acting, and Head of the Department of European and American Countries within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
With his extensive experience and profound understanding of international affairs, Usmonov assumed his current position as Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Belgium in 2022.
