Fayzullah Shaismatov

Mr Fayzullah Shaismatov is an official of the government of Uzbekistan and an expert with substantial international experience in the sphere of energy and investment. He currently holds the position of Deputy-Chairman at the Joint Stock Company "Thermal Power Plants of Uzbekistan". Prior to this he held several senior positions at the State Committee of Investments of Uzbekistan, where he covered the energy and chemical sectors, as well as being responsible for long term investment strategy and improvement of the investment climate.

He also served in several senior positions at the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan, where he covered credit portfolio planning and financial analysis. He is well grounded in the spheres of finance, investment and regulation as they apply to the energy sector in Uzbekistan and has been deeply involved in the overall of state institutions in order to promote economic liberalisation. He holds degrees in law as well as diplomacy from academic institutions in Uzbekistan and a further gradue degree from Ritsumeikan University, Japan.
